Because of the scouts' exams, the team was able to take a two day respite in a popular tourist location in Chitwan in a city named Saraha in order to celebrate the 4th of July. Otherwise, while the scouts have been busy studying for their exams, the team has been preparing for environment week and we are finally here! Soon, we will be handing out our reuseable bags, placing the dustbins, holding a community speech, and constructing a new sign that reads in Nepali and English, "Keep Meghauli Clean." The three volunteers from Daldale are back in Meghauli to help with this busy time of the project and will return July 15th, the day the 50 French volunteers arrive. After this week, we will facilitate Health Week and teach lessons on how to stay healthy both physically, emotionally, and mentally. During some of these lessons, we will discuss the positive health benefits on an individual and societal level that come from washing hands regularly, understanding puberty, and enabling gender equality. |
