"The only way to do great work is to love what you do."

Steve Jobs

It is no secret: we love what we do, and people are beginning to notice. Global Peace Exchange is proud to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious Student Organization of the Year by Florida State University's Leadership Award Committee out of over 600 other registered student organizations. Recognized as a leader on FSU's campus, GPE has been  contributing to campus life and engaging students by hosting a myriad of events, upholding democratic principles  and transparency, and coordinating inter-RSO collaboration. We have high hopes for our organization for the upcoming school year and beyond!

The GPE Nepal team has had a wildly successful semester as well, and we have worked hard for it. Between fundraising, hosting events, attending multiple meetings every week, we have been developing the lessons and activities we will be conducting with the Nepali children. We have also been working on improving our Adult English lessons, planning our reusable bag and public trashbin donations, and prioritizing our budget for other project costs. More than that, we are developing the framework for our beneficiaries to sustain all of our projects throughout year in our absence.

It may be the end of the school year, but the project planning continues. All the volunteers in the Nepal team are finishing up their semester: this entails late night study sessions in the Strozier Library, a relatively severe caffeine addiction, all while preparing to leave for Nepal for more than eight weeks abroad. Truthfully, we could not have a more dedicated group of individuals going to Nepal this year; it is no wonder we are the leading student organization on campus!
